The Canadian Velo Events Managment Society (CVEMS) is a not for profit society with the purpose of promoting healthy living through cycling. It's signature event, The Prospera Valley Granfondo (PVGF) takes direct aim at the CVEMS vision statement and money raised from the event goes straight back into the communities it serves, specifically those within the Fraser Valley of BC.
The overall goal of the Prospera Valley Granfondo is to create a legacy event for the Fraser Valley. By partnering with likeminded organizations such as Cycling BC, the vision of CVEMS can be realized by targeting youth within the local education system and guiding them to make healthy living choices. This in turn will help nurture the next generation and result in a net positive benefit for the society of the Fraser Valley as a whole.
The event will draw on the help of approx. 300 volunteers over two days, July 23 (rider package pick up) and 24 (event day), in historic Fort Langley, the birthplace of British Columbia. Without volunteers to offer their time, energy, support and enthusiasm this great local event could not occur.
Odlum Brown Cycling Club encourages members who will not be registered riders in either the 160km GranFondo, 88km MedioFondo or 50km PrestoFondo to be a part of the fun, excitement and camaraderie of this great cycling event that your friends or family members may be taking part in by choosing to volunteer your time, energy and enthusiasm to support healthy living choices for youth in the Fraser Valley and help to foster the relationship of Odlum Brown Cycling within the local community.
